War of Sticks is a strategy game where you gather resources, train stickman troops, build defenses, upgrade your army, and battle the Red Empire.
War of Sticks is a stickman strategy game where you manage resources, train soldiers, build defensive towers, upgrade your forces, and send an army against the Red Empire. You begin by recruiting miners to gather the materials needed for expansion, then decide how much of your economy should go toward new troops, stronger units, or defenses. Winning requires more than producing soldiers quickly because your economy and army need to grow together.
The browser version was created by Shoom Games. Its campaign revolves around freeing your stick people from the Red Empire across a series of battles that become more demanding as you progress.
Each battle combines resource gathering with army management. Miners are the foundation of your economy because they collect gold and stone. Gold is used to expand your military, while stone can be used to construct defensive towers.
Your army can include several unit types, including shielders, archers, barbarians, and wizards. These troops serve different battlefield roles, so building a varied force gives you more options than spending every resource on a single unit. Units and buildings can also be upgraded, allowing your army to become stronger as the campaign continues.
The overall cycle is straightforward: gather resources, strengthen your economy, recruit troops, establish defenses, and then push toward the enemy position when your force is ready.
Miners determine how quickly you can grow. Recruiting combat units immediately may provide short-term protection, but a weak economy makes it difficult to replace losses or purchase upgrades later.
Gold and stone serve different purposes. Gold supports troop recruitment and army development, while stone provides the material for defensive towers. Because both resources come from miners, increasing your workforce early can improve several parts of your strategy at once.
The key is balance. Too few miners can leave your army underfunded. Too many miners without enough soldiers can make your position vulnerable while the enemy is already attacking.
War of Sticks includes several combat units with different roles. The confirmed roster includes shielders, archers, barbarians, and wizards.
A mixed army is usually more flexible because one type of soldier does not need to handle every situation. Frontline troops can protect ranged attackers while those units continue dealing damage from behind.
Stone collected by miners can be turned into defensive towers. These structures give you another layer of protection while your miners continue producing resources and new troops enter the battlefield.
Towers are particularly useful when your army needs more time to develop. Instead of immediately sending every new soldier forward, a stronger defensive position can help you survive enemy pressure until you have enough resources for a larger attack.
However, investing only in defense can slow your advance. Towers support your army, but you still need combat units capable of moving toward the opposing base and finishing the battle.
War of Sticks allows both units and buildings to be upgraded. Strengthening them increases the value of resources already invested in your army and defenses rather than relying entirely on producing larger numbers of basic units.
Upgrade timing matters. Improving a unit that you rarely train may provide less immediate benefit than upgrading a troop type that forms the core of your army. The same principle applies to defensive structures: spend resources where they directly support the strategy you are using in the current battle.
The browser game uses a simple point-and-click interface. The purchase controls appear in the upper-left area of the screen, allowing you to recruit miners and combat units without manually controlling individual soldiers.
This control scheme keeps the focus on strategic decisions such as what to buy, when to defend, and when your army is strong enough to advance.
Recruit enough miners to keep resources flowing. If every early coin goes into troops, replacing a defeated army becomes difficult because there is no strong economy behind it.
Shielders and other close-range troops can absorb pressure while archers and wizards attack from farther back. Sending ranged units forward without protection can reduce the amount of time they stay effective.
If the enemy begins attacking before your army is prepared, defensive towers can help protect your side while miners continue gathering resources and reinforcements are trained.
Keeping some gold available gives you room to react when part of your army is defeated or when a different troop type becomes more useful. A completely empty resource pool limits your options.
If archers, shielders, or another unit consistently forms the core of your army, improving that unit can be more valuable than spreading upgrades across troops you rarely purchase.
A successful advance is easier when your economy can continue producing replacements. Sending your entire force forward without enough resources behind it can leave your base exposed if the attack fails.
War of Sticks takes place across a sequence of battles against the Red Empire. Levels become tougher as the campaign progresses, increasing the importance of upgrades, resource management, and better army composition.
Early encounters are useful for understanding how quickly miners generate resources and how different units fit together. Later battles give you less room for inefficient spending, so decisions about economy, defense, and attack timing become increasingly important.

War of Sticks is a stickman strategy game where you recruit miners, gather resources, build defensive towers, train military units, upgrade your forces, and battle the Red Empire.
The browser version of War of Sticks was created by Shoom Games, a developer based in Ukraine.
Miners collect resources used to support your army. Gold helps fund combat units and upgrades, while collected stone can be used for defensive towers.
Confirmed unit types include shielders, archers, barbarians, and wizards. Each gives you another option when building your army.
The game is controlled through the on-screen interface with mouse clicks. Purchase buttons are used to recruit miners, train troops, and activate available strategic options.
War of Sticks combines army building with an economy that must support every defensive and offensive decision. Miners provide the resources, towers protect your position, and units such as shielders, archers, barbarians, and wizards give you different ways to fight. Build enough income to replace losses, upgrade the forces you rely on most, and wait until your army can sustain an attack before pushing toward the Red Empire’s base.
